Separately Together

I almost wonder if they've even laid eyes on each other. They'd certainly make a great looking couple.

Bob could be the strong arm Judy needs to lean on. He could end her endless search for the perfect lover.

Judy could be the honest wife Bob has been searching his whole life for.

Judy gives Jenny a friendly hug as she finishes the last of her drink. She waves good-bye to me as she turns to leave, brushing past Bob without seeing him.

Jenny returns to the bar, seating herself beside Ruth.

Charlie and Ruth are remembering the recent milestone in our lives.

A Granddaughter's Wedding

Two lone broken hearts... cry in silent screams together
Into the world they part... never knowing what or whether
They could make a go, or if they could be a team
They could let love build instead of hearing lonely silent screams

They cannot let it show, have no time for their love to grow
They’re not sure what real love means... cause love is not a certainty
Ignoring love’s gracious ride... they walk blindly side by side
Their silence screaming through the darkness... separately together

Two lone broken hearts lie in the ashes of a burned out dream
Calling out for one... never knowing what honest love can mean
They could own the world... march proud their flag unfurled
If they could let love build without a lonely silent scream

But they cannot help complain ‘bout the steady pouring rains
Never see the blossom bloom, or feel the beauty of angel stains
Or a thousand shades of green and the magic hope it brings
Grown in silent screams this night, so lonely... separately together

Two lone broken hearts... cry in silent screams together
Into the world they part... never knowing what or whether
They could make a go, or if they could be a team
They could let love build instead of hearing lonely silent screams

But they cannot help complain ‘bout the steady pouring rains
Never see the blossom bloom, or feel the beauty of angel stains
Or a thousand shades of green and the magic hope it brings
Grown in silent screams this night, so lonely... separately together
