Hello...

Hello...

Hello...

Jerry returns from the phone looking dejected and blue.

I suppose the call didn't go as he had planned. He sits quietly, staring even more intently into the jar of eggs.

It's something I've come to recognize, the "thousand mile" stare. When a person gets in that mood, they don't notice anything, not even what they are focusing upon. Jerry is lost in thought, going deeper into his emotions and not hiding it well. Even though he's not showing outward signs, it is obvious that his tortured mind is weeping.

He misses her already. I don't think he'll ever get over losing Gail.

Just A Little Taste Of Rainbow

Jerry You know we should start talking
We’ve both got so much to say
But when we’re tryin’ to speak
Careless words get in our way
So much left unspoken
So many lines left out of the rhyme

Gail You know I wanted to reach you
To touch you again
To fill this space in my arms
Feel you in my heart again
But the hurt began flowing
Those bitter drops replaced all my lines

chorus

Jerry So now I’m living a lie, lying alone
Dreaming you will want to change
This lonely house into a home

Gail Dreaming of a day when our
Lives won’t need a telephone

Jerry (And you once again call me your own)

Gail Dreaming of just talking
With no words left unsaid
And the love that we’ve made
Living peaceful here instead

both

Dreaming of the day when
No angry tones will get in our way

end chorus

Gail

You know it’s never been easy
For us to agree
Which way our lives will be heading
Or what could make us keep
Tryin’ for survival, crying to remain
As family (you and me)

Jerry

You know I wanted to reach out
And touch you once again
Like in those dreams I still hold
I’d place my heart in your hand
But I’ve never spoken up, I
Won’t let my love get in your way

Gail

You know we should start talking
We’ve both got so much to say
But when we’re tryin’ to speak
Careless words get in our way
So much left unspoken
So many lines left out of the rhyme

Jerry

You know I’ve tried to let go
But then I called you again
Dialed the number and listened
To my heart breaking once again
I sadly hung up the phone
Once I heard your voice whisper “Hello”

chorus
