His Love

His Love

His Love

He has provided my answer. He always does, in His own time.

I must follow in His way.

It's been just over three months since Charlie and Jenny were laid to rest.

Today, I display a new sign over the doorway of St. George's. The original cross which I had taken off the building long ago again adorns the steeple. Everything is as He wills it to be.

The building once again serves the church. Father Donald and I have converted it into a shelter and soup kitchen for the homeless. There is plenty of room to house and feed wayward souls. The grill was already in place.

The crowds have left but once in a while Paul, Bob, Brad, Millie, Judy, or Ruth still drop by. We often pray together for Jerry's salvation.

Sue stops in occasionally now but she's strangely quiet. She refuses to pray for Jerry. There's always an excuse to leave.

Mary, Debbie, and Gail haven't been back. They've followed Teresa and Jeremy to Donald's Meet Shop across town.

Tina and Markus moved to New York leaving Brad to his own resources. His health continues to fail but his faith doesn't. Brad trusts that the Lord will provide. The power of prayer is keeping him alive and active.

Clyde has left town with Magnolia, divorcing Mary and awarding custody of Rachel to Charlotte. Rachel has been withdrawn since the accident but we're all praying she'll come around. She's young, she'll survive.

Epilogue

He didn’t have to face Calvary
Just to die to save my soul
But, my Jesus gave His life for me
His conviction my parole

His life was empty of anger
A lighthouse bright on Calvary’s darkened hill
His love for me removed the danger
A shining beam of love fulfilled

chorus

He didn’t have to offer His life and yet,
His blood flowed free
Jesus paid the price for my soul and
He gave up His life for me

He didn’t have to prove to anyone that
His love would last forever
On that cross, on that hill
Jesus proved that His Love did

end chorus

He lived life as a simple man
A golden star in remnant robe
Universal passion in the palm of his hand
His life salvation for the globe

He healed the ailing, let the blinded man see
Jesus’ love was Satan’s blight
Son of Mary, child of eternity
My Savior’s countenance shining bright

chorus

He proved His love through the crown that they made
Thorns of pain, swords pierced His side
A taste of vinegar proffered on soldier’s blade
He begged forgiveness as He died

A tomb prepared for the Savior’s disgrace
A barren womb of earth inside
Held His body but only three days
It’s stone rolled away with third sunrise

He didn’t have to offer His life and yet
His blood flowed free
Jesus paid the price for my soul and
He gave up His life for me

He didn’t have to prove to anyone that
His love would last forever
On that cross on that hill Jesus proved to me,
I’m so glad that His love did
