Welcome To St George's
Cathedral, Bar & Grill

Welcome friends and neighbors to my bar and grill. The St George's building used to house a church, but twenty years ago, the parish moved to a brand new building uptown.

They sold the old building to me for a song. It was perfectly suited for the bar and grill.

I added "Cathedral" to the name to honor the building's history. Some of the locals didn't agree at first, calling it a sacrilege. But, they soon became regulars. We now have a mixed crowd as the food brings them in if'n the cold brew doesn't.

We kept the stained glass windows although we took down the steeple's cross. The stained glass adds to the atmosphere, especially at night when cars pull into the parking lot and their lights cast an eerie glow over the crowd.

It's six o'clock Wednesday evening. Teresa will be waltzing in any second now. I can set my watch by her, you know. She'll order a drink and sip the tiniest amounts until he comes in. She's loyal and tips good, but sometimes her drink gets warm before Jeremy arrives. I've never known her to order a second.

Jeremy drops his wife and kids off at the other St George's for Wednesday night services. He meets Teresa here and they... well... I'm their bartender, not their Father Confessor.

Waiting For Jeremy

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Pull up a Bible, a barstool and a beer

There’s chips to vent some anger...
Repent with some chicken wings
Wash it all down with a cold, cold draft
And feel the joy it brings

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Come in everybody, it’s always cool in here

We ain’t set no minimums...
Happy Hour lasts till dawn
So take a load up off your feet
And confess with a 2 for 1

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Gents on the left, ladies on the right,
Girls best pray right here

We got whiskey for your damnation...
Repent and sin some more
Our cold, cold draft is salvation itself,
Testify while I preach and pour!

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Sacrificial wine before it’s time,
Gonna spread some country cheer

Jones ‘n Hank anoints our jukebox
And Wynette’s on gold CD
But if you ask real nice, once or twice,
You might get a tune outta me

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Pull up a Bible, a barstool and a beer...

Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
Welcome to St. George’s Cathedral, Bar & Grill
